Qualified to judge: Companions Nearly 30 years ago I managed to talk the family into taking me to a cat show. It was amazing to see the cats sitting in cages, it certainly was something different. When I saw my first Birman cat I fell in love. I was able to purchase my first Birman with no white feet, but managed to bring a brother and sister.
I joined the Birman Cat Club and the rest is history. I was given my first breeding cat from Liz Robinson. I then started my prefix Bindura Birmans. I started learning all I could about the cats, how shows were run and made good friends along the way. I started breeding in a small way as we had twin boys, one had a disability so we were busy with our young men. I started working in the disability field as a shift worker plus breeding the Birmans. My next adventure was starting a new prefix in 2014, Babuschka Siberians. I acquired a Siberian girl from Marie Mahoney and a boy I imported from Irina Petrenko, to start breeding these very interesting cats. I have been a senior steward for CCI for 25 years. I hold the position of President of the Birman Cat Club, committee member of CCI, and treasurer for Canberra Forest Cats Club. I am a trainee Group 1 judge as I want to learn more about the cats and what to look for in a cat as a judge and not as a breeder. |

Qualified to judge: Companions I received my first pedigree cat, a cream Persian, in 1977 when I was 13 years old. The cat was a gift from my parents following an accident at school that left me incapacitated for a number of months. I started showing my cat and was hooked on the breed, later breeding blue and cream Persians.
After a break from breeding and showing, I came back to the cat fancy, showing and breeding Birmans, and joined the Birman Cat Club of Canberra. Following the introduction of the Siberian breed in Australia I have fallen in love with this wonderful breed, showing with some success and breeding under my Tyumen prefix. I am president of the Canberra Forest Cats Club and secretary of the Birman Cat Club of Canberra. I am also passionate about showing my Havanese dogs. I spend most weekends travelling across our wonderful country, showing my cats and dogs. |

Qualified to judge: Companions Throughout my childhood I always had a cat, usually a longhair domestic. In 1982 I visited my first cat show in Canberra and bought a Persian kitten and fell in love with the breed. After purchasing a show quality Pointed Persian kitten in 2001 I began showing cats. The following year I began breeding under the Dewmar prefix specialising in blue and then white Persians and bred for 10 years. I am currently President and a Senior Steward with Capital Cats and Secretary of the ACT Longhair Cat Club. Nationally I am Treasurer of the Coordinating Cat Council of Australia and chair the Breeds Sub-Committee, which allows me to follow my interest in cat breeds and breeding standards. |
